LuceraBot

LuceraBot is the program Lucera uses to collect public meeting records. Here is what it reads, how fast it goes, and how to keep it out.

How to spot it

Every request it makes carries this user agent:

LuceraBot/0.1 (+https://getlucera.com/crawler)

What it reads

Public pages only: the agendas, minutes and meeting video that local governments post, and the files those pages link to. It never logs in, fills in forms, or reads anything behind a password.

How fast it goes

At most one request every 2 seconds to any one site, so it shouldn’t slow your server down.

robots.txt

LuceraBot reads your robots.txt and follows it. To keep it out of your whole site, add this:

User-agent: LuceraBot
Disallow: /

To keep it out of one part of your site, name that path instead:

User-agent: LuceraBot
Disallow: /archive/

Problems or questions

If LuceraBot is causing trouble, or you’d like it to visit less often, email sean@getlucera.com. Tell us your site’s address and we’ll sort it out.
